The Old Swan and Minster Mill, Old Minster
You’ll find the Old Swan and Minster Mill situated along Minster Riding in the picturesque village of Minster Lovell.
The Grade II listed building dates back to the early 17th century.
Local legend says that during a wedding reception at the Old Swan and Minster Mill a young woman disappeared.
Apparently, she was tired from dancing and found an oak chest in a quiet room.
She decided to climb into the chest and have a nap.
But she got trapped inside it and died.
Her skeleton was discovered in the chest many years later!
And now her ghost is said to haunt the Old Swan and Minster Mill.
Witnesses who’ve seen her ghostly apparition described her as looking very unhappy.
The ghost of a Grey Lady is also said to haunt the hotel.
The Grey Lady is believed to be the spirit of a former landlady from the 1950s who was electrocuted and sadly died.
Her ghostly apparition has been seen wandering around the upstairs bedrooms of the pub.
Spooked members of staff at the Old Swan and Minster Mill have reported hearing phantom footsteps, banging noises coming from a locked room and seeing a knife fly through the air in the restaurant!
After closing time, a ghostly figure of a man has been witnessed standing at the bar before he vanishes into thin air.
Outside the pub a featureless black figure has been seen lurking.
The only distinguishable thing about this phantom is its white staring eyes!Click Here to Stay in the Old Swan and Minster Mill
