New Park Manor Hotel, Brockenhurst

You’ll find the New Park Manor Hotel off the Lyndhurst Road just to the north of the village of Brockenhurst.

The Grade II listed former country house dates back to the 17th century.

It was often used by King Charles II and his mistress Nell Gwyn as a hunting lodge.

People have reported hearing the phantom sounds of footsteps, mumbling voices and panting animals within the hotel.

A phantom coach and horses has also been heard approaching the building.

Witnesses have reported seeing a ghostly apparition of an old man in a black suit in the hotel’s lounge and restaurant areas.

A ghost of a 17th century woman has been seen looking out of the windows of the public room.

And another ghostly woman in a green dress has been seen peering out of a bedroom window which was once used as a nursery.

A ghostly maid is said to haunt another bedroom.

Her ghost has been described as having bad teeth and is accompanied by a foul smell.

Paranormal investigators have reported seeing a ghostly figure walking along one of the hotel’s hallways.

The Roundabout Hotel, Fareham

You’ll find the Roundabout Hotel along Wallington Shore Road in the market town of Fareham.

The impressive looking hotel dates back to the 19th century.

In the late 1970s witnesses reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a young boy at the hotel.

They described him as being between twelve and thirteen years old with blonde hair and wearing a black coat and buckled shoes.

The witnesses also reported that there was a sudden temperature drop when they saw the ghostly boy.

Nobody knows who the young boy was or why he haunted the hotel.

His ghost hasn’t been seen in recent years since there was a fire at the hotel which destroyed part of the building.

White Horse Hotel, Romsey

You’ll find the White Horse Hotel situated on Market Place in the heart of the market town of Romsey.

Parts of the Grade II listed hotel date back to the medieval and Tudor periods but the main part of the building is 16th century with an 18th century façade.

During the 18th century the hotel was a busy coaching inn catering for travellers between London and Bristol.

Spooked guests and members of staff at the hotel have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a woman drifting around the premises.

She’s been described as wearing a white dress and has been seen in the Mummers Gallery as well as other upper floor rooms and in the vicinity of the Georgian staircase.

Nobody knows exactly who she is or why her ghost haunts the hotel!

Master Builder’s Hotel, Buckler’s Hard

You’ll find the Master Builder’s Hotel at Buckler’s Hard village on Lord Montagu’s Beaulieu Estate in Hampshire.

The Grade II listed building dates back to the mid-18th century.

Guests staying at the Master Builder’s Hotel have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a woman in their bedrooms and standing on the hotel’s staircase.

They describe her as being in her late twenties, pretty with fair hair and wearing a grey dress.

They also say that she’s very sad looking and is accompanied by a sorrowful atmosphere!

Local legend says she’s the ghost of a former resident of the building who threw her new born baby from an upper window killing the child instantly.

The Crown Hotel, Alton

The 16th century Crown Hotel situated along the High Street in the middle of the market town of Alton has a reputation for being haunted…

Room 3 is said to be haunted by a ghost of an old man.

And a ghostly woman in grey or white is said to roam the hotel.

The apparition is said to be that of a kitchen maid who was murdered at the Crown.

Members of staff and guests alike have heard the phantom sound of a dog scratching and whimpering near the chimneybreast of the pub.

Legend says that a drunken customer flew into a rage with his dog and beat it to death.

And now the dog is said to haunt the pub!

The White Hart Hotel, Andover

Along Bridge Street in Andover you’ll find the White Hart Hotel.

The hotel dates back to 1617 and it has a couple of ghostly tales to tell…

It’s said to be haunted by a ghostly Green Lady.

Terrified witnesses have seen her gliding along the upstairs corridor and within Room 14 and 20.

They describe her as being tall and wearing a green dress, hence the nickname!

The hotel is also said to be haunted by another less distinctive female figure that sometimes shows herself to startled guests in the bar area.

Sometimes she’s accompanied by a male spirit.

Witnesses describe the ghostly couple as being misty and white!

Keppels Head Hotel, Portsmouth

You’ll find the 18th century Keppels Head Hotel a stone’s throw away from Portsmouth Harbour along The Hard.

The hotel dates back to 1779 and is named after Admiral Keppel.

In 1956, the Navy frogman Buster Crabb mysteriously disappeared after diving under a Soviet ship moored in Portsmouth Harbour.

It’s said that Buster spent his last night at the Keppels Head Hotel and now haunts it!

The historic hotel is well over five hundred years old and is said to be haunted.

It’s said to be haunted by a former cleaner called Molly who died under mysterious circumstances at the Dolphin.

Terrified witnesses have seen her ghostly apparition floating around the hotel normally in the early hours of the morning!

The 13th century Angel Inn in the beautiful Georgian market town of Lymington is said to be haunted by up to six ghosts.

Spooked members of staff have witnessed the ghostly apparition of a former coach driver who’s seen staring out of the kitchen window.

Another male apparition seen by both members of staff and guests alike in the bar area of the Angel is a man in a naval uniform.

On the second floor of the hotel witnesses have seen the ghostly apparition of a blonde lady wandering around…

Sometimes they also hear her giggling!

Other paranormal activity which has been heard at the hotel is phantom footsteps and the sound of a piano being played…
