The Hauntings of the A23

Witnesses have reported seeing a ghostly male figure on the A23 between the village of Pyecombe and Handcross Hill.

In the 1960s a driver heading along the A23 near Handcross Hill reported that a man stepped out in front of his car.

He didn’t have time to react and hit the man.

The driver stopped and went back to the collision sight but couldn’t find anybody injured in the area.

He checked his own car to see what damage was done to it but couldn’t find any.

Did he run over a ghost?

Other ghosts seen along the A23 include an apparition of a man wearing a short sleeve shirt, a ghostly blonde woman in a mackintosh and a ghost of a young girl who’s been seen crossing the A23 near the village of Pyecombe.
