Along the High Street in the centre of the historic market town of Grantham you’ll find the Angel and Royal Hotel.
The hotel is said to be England’s oldest.
It dates back to 1203 when it was built as a hostel for Brotherhood of the Knights Templar.
Over the centuries the hotel has had lots of Royal visitors…
King John, Richard III, Edward III, Charles I, George IV and Edward VII all visited the hotel!
With such a long history you probably won’t be too surprised to discover that the Angel and Royal Hotel is said to have the odd ghost or two knocking about the place…
Mysterious orbs and phantom lights have been photographed in the hotel’s Kings Room restaurant.
The hotel is said to have its own residential ghost called Jasper.

Lots of paranormal groups have investigated Jamaica Inn coming to the conclusion that the most active parts of the inn are the Smugglers Bar, the Restaurant, the Stable Bar and Bedroom 4.
Witnesses have also reported hearing the sound of a phantom coach and horses drawing up outside the inn in the middle of the night.
Visitors to Jamaica Inn have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a man dressed in a cloak and a hat.
Apparently, he suddenly appears and then disappears through solid closed doors.
