The Haunted Bassa Villa

48 Cartway, Bridgnorth WV16 4BG

You’ll find Bassa Villa situated on Cartway in Bridgnorth.

The timber-framed Grade II listed building dates back to the 1600s when it started life out as a private house.

In 2015, the pub’s CCTV capture footage of pint glasses flying off their shelves in the early hours of the morning.

The premises are said to be haunted by the ghosts of two 17th century children called Charlotte and William.

They tragically drown in the pub’s cellar when they were locked in during a game of hide and seek and the nearby River Severn broke its banks flooding the room.

The building is also said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman in black who witnesses have heard crying.

Some people say that the woman in black is in fact the children’s mother!
