The Haunted Berystede Hotel
Bagshot Road, Sunninghill, Ascot SL5 9JH
Just along Bagshot Road in South Ascot you’ll come across the luxury Berystede Hotel.
In 1886, the original Gothic Tudor manor house on the Berystede site was totally destroyed in a terrible fire.
Tragically, a maid called Eliza Kleininger was killed in the fire when she ran back into the burning building to save precious jewellery belonging to her mistress.
Today, the hotel is said to be haunted by a ghostly apparition nicknamed the Blue Lady…
Many say that the Blue Lady is in fact the ghost of the maid Eliza Kleininger!
