Discover Who Haunts Portsmouth’s Brewhouse and Kitchen Pub

| On 20, Dec 2016

The Brewhouse and Kitchen pub is said to be HAUNTED BY THE GHOST OF A FORMER BARMAID!

You’ll find the Brewhouse and Kitchen pub along Guildhall Walk in Portsmouth.

It’s the city’s first craft beer pub where the brewing is done on the premises!

The Neo-Tudor Jacobean Grade II listed building dates back to the early 1900s.

The pub was previously known as the Mucky Ducky, Pitchers and the White Swan.

Over that period it gained a reputation for being haunted…

The Ghostly Barmaid

Local legend says that during the early days of the pub, the jealous husband of the barmaid stabbed her to death on the premises.

It’s now said that her ghost haunts the area around the pub’s fireplace!

Her Victorian ghost was last witnessed in 1991 by the nephew of the then landlord.
