The Hauntings at Buryfields Farm
Half way along the High Street there’s a turning for Keysoe Road which will take you to Buryfields Farm.
In the 1950s the family living at the farm experienced a lot of paranormal activity taking place at their property.
The young daughter of the family once woke up in the middle of the night to see that her bedroom wall had gain an extra door in it and a dark ghostly figure was standing in its doorway.
The poor girl once got hurt when a solid pump suddenly collapsed on its own accord striking her in the progress.
The farm’s lamps would also light up by themselves!
Locked doors throughout the property would often mysteriously be opened during the night.
On one occasion a door which was nail shut was even found opened in the morning!
A terrified girl screamed so loud one day when she witnessed a ghostly man in her room that it brought a stockman from a nearby field rushing to her help…
The stockman couldn’t see any ghostly figure in the room but the young girl was adamant that there was a menacing man with them!
Another ghostly encounter happened to the farmer one day whilst he was travelling along the road to Dean.
As he passed Eastfields Corner he heard what sounded like a phantom horse ploughing through the hedgerow and gallop across the road in front of him.
He didn’t actually see the ghostly horse… he just heard it!
