The Haunted Cartland Bridge Hotel
Glasgow Road, Lanark ML11 9UE
Just on the outskirts of the historic town of Lanark you’ll find the Cartland Bridge Hotel.
The Baronial style hotel is a Grade A listed building which dates back to the 1800s.
The country house hotel has a reputation for being haunted…
In 1978, three witnesses were scared witless after seeing the ghostly apparition of an old woman wearing a pale blue dress and a veil covering her face.
Apparently, she was very solid looking but seemed to be floating in mid-air!
A few weeks later, guests at the hotel also saw the ghostly figure hovering in the hotel’s private lounge.
The blue lady isn’t the only ghost said to haunt the hotel.
Members of staff have also witnesses the ghostly apparition of a young girl.
The young girl is believed to be Annie Farie who is said to have died in a riding accident and is buried in a private graveyard within the hotel grounds.
Her ghostly apparition has been seen throughout the hotel but it’s said that she tends to like one room in particular…
The room that was once her dolls room!Click Here to Stay in the Cartland Bridge Hotel
