Haunted: Castle Hotel, Taunton, Somerset

The Castle Hotel at Taunton is said to be HAUNTED BY A GHOSTLY VIOLINIST!

You’ll find the Castle Hotel situated on Castle Green in the centre of the county town of Somerset, Taunton.

The Grade II listed hotel is an 18th century reconstruction of the 12th century Taunton Castle.

The hotel was once known as Clarke’s Hotel.

It has incorporated in it the Grade I listed Castle Bow which originally formed the east gate to the Castle precincts.

The Castle Hotel at Taunton is reputed to be haunted…

The hotel has a room called the Fiddler’s Room where a phantom violin has been heard playing even though the room has been empty at the time.

Some people have reported seeing the ghostly violinist.

They describe the apparition as being a woman dressed in an evening dress from the early 20th century!
