The Haunting of the Chapelhay Steps

You’ll find Weymouth’s Chapelhay Steps leading from Trinity Road pass the Holy Trinity Church and up to Chapelhay Street.

The steps are said to be haunted by a ghost that likes to push men in the back as they descend the steps.

Since 1983, on three different occasions, unrelated men have gone on record stating that they were pushed in their backs at a certain spot on the steps by an unknown entity as they descended them.

All men avoided serious injury as they managed to keep their balance.

But they were all shaken up by their experience as they swear blind that there was nobody else around them at the time to push them!
