The Crown Inn is located along the High Street of the historic town of Lewes.
The building is actually older than it looks as it dates back to 1635.
Recently, the hotel has been gaining a reputation for being haunted…
Members of staff have reported seeing a couple of ghostly apparitions at the hotel.
In Room 5 an apparition of a man in brown eighteenth century clothing was witnessed standing by the old bureau.
Guests staying in that room have also reported being woken in the middle of the night by the bed being shaken vigorously.
Phantom balls of light where witnessed in Room 7 by another guest.
Terrified members of staff and guest alike have witnessed the ghostly apparition of a Victorian woman dress in grey.
She’s been nicknamed Emily and has been seen throughout the hotel.
Her speciality is to vanish through walls!
