A Haunting in Dedham

Dedham is a very picturesque village on the River Stour in the heart of Constable Country in the northeast of Essex.

It’s west of the market town and infamous haunt of the Witchfinder General… Manningtree!

If you fancy paying a visit to Dedham you’ll need to take the A12 to the northeast of Essex and then take the B1029 which will take you to this pretty village.

In Brooke Street there’s a cottage which is said to be haunted by a poor little boy who suffocated whilst sweeping its chimney.

It’s said that he hangs around the cottage and is mostly witnessed by children.

Children report playing with a real looking little boy with a sooty face only to be scared stiff when they touch him.

You see, their hands past straight through the little phantom sweep!
