The Haunted Galloway Arms Hotel
Crocketford DG2 8RA
You’ll find the Galloway Arms Hotel in the centre of the Scottish village of Crocketford in Dumfries and Galloway.
The Grade B listed hotel dates back to 1856 when it was first called the New Inn.
Before that, the building was used as a convent belonging to the Buchanites.
The village of Crocketford was founded in 1787 by the Buchanites.
They were a religious sect founded by a lady called Elizabeth Buchan who believed she was the woman referred to in Revelations 12.
She persuaded others to follow her as she had heavenly powers!
The Buchanites set up a convent in Crocketford and that building later became the Galloway Arms Hotel.
The hotel is said to be haunted by the ghost of Elizabeth Buchan!Click Here to Stay in the Galloway Arms Hotel
