The Haunted George and Pilgrims’ Hotel
1 High Street, Glastonbury BA6 9DP
Located on Glastonbury’s High Street is the splendid stone faced Grade I listed George and Pilgrims’ Hotel.
The hotel was first opened in the listed 15th century to accommodate pilgrims to Glastonbury Abbey.
The George and Pilgrims’ Hotel has a reputation for being haunted…
Being so close to the Abbey you probably won’t be too surprised if I told you that the hotel is said to be haunted by a ghostly monk.
Terrified witnesses have reported seeing his apparition walking along the hotel’s corridors followed by the ghostly figure of a well dressed woman.
Local legend says they were lovers!
Another apparition often witnessed at the hotel is a man dressed in a blue sports jacket.
He’s said to vanish into thin air when he’s approached.Click Here to Stay in the George and Pilgrims’ Hotel
FEATURED HAUNTED HOTEL: The Black Boy Inn, Caernarfon
To the rear of the Black Boy there was once a convent which probably accounts for the many sightings of a ghostly nun seen walking through the building.
Many guests have heard the sound of a phantom child crying in one of the inn’s bedrooms.
Apparently, if you ask whether the child is OK it stops crying!
Members of staff and punters alike have reported seeing a ghostly figure of a man sitting in the bar area of the pub just watching people.
And a senior member of staff was certain they saw a ghostly apparition of a woman in the bar area when they were working late one night.
