The Haunted Kings Arms Hotel
2 Lion Gate, Hampton Court Road, Molesey, East Molesey KT8 9DD
You’ll find the Kings Arms Hotel located along the Hampton Court Road near the northern Lion Gate entrance to the Hampton Court Palace grounds.
The Grade II listed building dates back to 1658 when it started life out as a house of disrepute for soldiers garrisoned at Hampton Court Palace.
The Kings Arms Hotel is said to be haunted by the ghosts of a mother and her son who both tragically committed suicide in the building during the 19th century.
The son discovered his mother hanged in the building.
It’s said he was so disturbed that he threw himself out of a window killing himself instantly.
In 2004, the hotel was featured in national newspapers after a photograph was taken of a father and his son inside the Kings Arms.
The photo captured a ghostly image of what looked like an old woman wearing a long dark coat lingering in the background of the family photo.
In the past, witnesses have reported seeing a grey-haired old lady looking out of one of the hotel’s bedroom windows!Click Here to Stay in the Kings Arms Hotel
FEATURED HAUNTED HOTEL: The Black Boy Inn, Caernarfon
To the rear of the Black Boy there was once a convent which probably accounts for the many sightings of a ghostly nun seen walking through the building.
Many guests have heard the sound of a phantom child crying in one of the inn’s bedrooms.
Apparently, if you ask whether the child is OK it stops crying!
Members of staff and punters alike have reported seeing a ghostly figure of a man sitting in the bar area of the pub just watching people.
And a senior member of staff was certain they saw a ghostly apparition of a woman in the bar area when they were working late one night.
