The Haunted Langham Hotel
1C Portland Place, Marylebone, London W1B 1JA
The famous five-star Langham Hotel in Portland Place is said to be the most haunted hotel in London…
It’s said that just before the First World War a German officer or nobleman tragically committed suicide by jumping to his death from an upper-storey window.
Terrified members of staff and guests have reported seeing his ghostly apparition roaming around the hotel’s rooms and corridors.
Some say that it may be his ghost which haunts the infamous Room 333 at the hotel.
On night a famous BBC newscaster was sleeping in the room only to be rudely awoken in the middle of the night by a strange florescent ball of light.
The ball then slowly started to manifest into a human shape.
Apparently the ghost was wearing Victorian evening wear but had no legs!
Recently, the England cricket team stayed at the hotel and a lot of the players reported paranormal activity taking place in their rooms.
It seems like the 3rd floor is very active at night!
Another ghostly apparition that is often witnessed at the hotel is of a smartly dressed man carrying a tray…
Some say it’s a butler whilst others think it’s a man wearing a dinner jacket!Click Here to Stay in the Langham Hotel
FEATURED HAUNTED HOTEL: The Black Boy Inn, Caernarfon
To the rear of the Black Boy there was once a convent which probably accounts for the many sightings of a ghostly nun seen walking through the building.
Many guests have heard the sound of a phantom child crying in one of the inn’s bedrooms.
Apparently, if you ask whether the child is OK it stops crying!
Members of staff and punters alike have reported seeing a ghostly figure of a man sitting in the bar area of the pub just watching people.
And a senior member of staff was certain they saw a ghostly apparition of a woman in the bar area when they were working late one night.
