The Haunted Miners Arms

Water Lane, Eyam, Hope Valley S32 5RG

You’ll find the Miners Arms located on Water Lane in the village of Eyam.

The historic inn dates back to the 1630s when it was first called the King’s Head.

The previous pub which stood on the spot burnt down in 1929.

Two young girls called Sarah and Emily tragically died in the fire.

And it’s now said that their ghosts haunt the Miners Arms.

Witnesses have reported hearing their ghosts skipping, playing and giggling in the pub’s corridor.

Guests staying the night have reported that they’ve been woken by having their bedroom doors opened and closed by the ghostly girls.

The Miners Arms is also said to be haunted by the ghost of an old woman who dresses in black!
