AMBERLY CASTLE: A Haunted Castle You Can Actually Stay the Night In!
The Grade I listed 12th century Amberley Castle Hotel is located in the picturesque village of Amberley.
Today, the castle has been transferred into an amazing luxury hotel.
It's said to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl called Emily who committed suicide at the castle.
Her ghostly apparition has been seen by terrified witnesses in and around the Herstmonceux Room!
The Lamb Inn
The collapsed tunnel which connects the Lamb Inn’s cellar to the parsonage is said to be haunted by a White Lady ghost.
Spooked members of staff have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a tall man in the pub.
They describe him as being in his early forties and having blonde curly hair.
An apparition of another man is sometimes seen in the back bar sitting in a chair.
And the eerie sounds of a little girl crying has been heard coming from the laundry room!
The Lamb Inn is also said to be haunted by the ghosts of two prostitutes who once lived and worked at the inn when it was used as a brothel.
The Royal Sovereign
Customers and members of staff alike have witnessed a shadowy figure on the ground floor of the Royal Sovereign pub.
They describe the male ghostly apparition as wearing a big tall hat.
He’s been nicknamed Harry.
And is believed to be the ghost of a former policeman who once worked at the police station!
The pub’s cleaner’s little boy would often be heard chatting away with Harry.
And one of the pub’s regulars saw his shadowy figure walk across the bar area.
Glasses have flung off the shelves on their own accord.
And customers have been push and poked by someone unseen!
The Tally Ho
The Tally Ho pub is said to be haunted by the ghost of a chatty little girl.
Witnesses have described the little girl as being about ten years old.
And although not often seen she is often heard chatting away to staff members.
On the times that her ghostly apparition has been seen she’s been witnessed sitting in the corners of rooms, wandering along corridors and on one occassion in the bar area!
There’s also an old picture of a middle-aged couple in one of the front rooms of the pub that whenever its moved or turned around the very next day it has mysteriously been put back to its original position.
