The Grade II listed building dates back to 1840 when it was originally built as a private house.
The building was used during both World Wars by the military.
During the First World War it was used as a hospital for injured servicemen.
And during the Second World War it was used as an Army headquarters.
Local legend says Ryde Castle Hotel is haunted by a friendly poltergeist that has a good sense of humour.
