The Haunted Shrigley Hall Hotel

The Regency style Shrigley Hall is located in the village of Pott Shrigley.
The hall was built in 1825 for the Blackburn mill owner and Member of Parliament William Turner.
In the 20th century it was used as a school by the religious institute of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
The Salesians added a chapel to the south of the house in 1936.
In 1989 the house and church were converted into a hotel and country club.
Guests at the hotel have reported paranormal activity with one witnessing a ghostly apparition walking into his bathroom!
Other reported ghostly goings-on at the hotel include unexplained noises, dramatic temperature drops and strange banging noises in the middle of the night.

Lots of paranormal groups have investigated Jamaica Inn coming to the conclusion that the most active parts of the inn are the Smugglers Bar, the Restaurant, the Stable Bar and Bedroom 4.
Witnesses have also reported hearing the sound of a phantom coach and horses drawing up outside the inn in the middle of the night.
Visitors to Jamaica Inn have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a man dressed in a cloak and a hat.
Apparently, he suddenly appears and then disappears through solid closed doors.
