The Haunted Spice Ship Inn
Bridge Inn Lane, Preston DT3 6DB
You’ll find the Spice Ship Inn located along the Preston Road in the coastal village of Preston.
The Grade II listed building dates back to the early 19th century.
The former coaching inn is said to be haunted by the ghost a Portuguese sailor who tragically drowned off the Dorset coast a couple of centuries ago.
His washed up body was taken to the inn for the inquest and now his ghost is said to haunt the premises.
Local legend says that his ghost is searching the pub for his shipmates who were all lost at sea.
His ghost has been blamed for the phantom footsteps, eerie night time noises, turning on the beer taps, setting off alarms and even pulling a former landlord from his bed one night!Click Here to Stay in the Spice Ship Inn
