The Haunting of St James Church
You’ll find the Grade I listed St James Church located off the High Street in the Wiltshire village of Avebury.
The church has an 11th century Saxon nave with two original Saxon windows.
The churchyard of St James is reputed to be haunted by the ghosts of a young woman and a little boy.
Witnesses who’ve seen the little boy describe him as wearing clothing from the Victorian era consisting of white stockings and a matching brown cap, jacket and knickerbockers.
One witness described him as being very solid looking and about eight years old with brown curly hair.
Apparently he was hopping up and down on one of the table tombs by the church door!
