The Haunted Sun Hotel

You’ll find the historic Sun Hotel along Sun Street in Hitchin.
The hotel is old, it dates back to the 1500s and as you can probably guess that it’s reputed to have the odd ghost or two knocking about the place.
One of the upstairs rooms in the hotel is said to be haunted by the ghostly apparition of Lord Havisham who committed suicide in the room back in the 1800s.
Apparently his ghost is absolutely terrifying!
Room 10 at the hotel is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman.
One guest who had an encounter with the ghost was so frightened that he actually ran out of the hotel and spent the night wandering around the town until dawn.
The hotel’s bar is also said to be haunted…
A former barmaid witnessed on a couple of occasions the ghostly apparition of a monk walk across the bar area!

Lots of paranormal groups have investigated Jamaica Inn coming to the conclusion that the most active parts of the inn are the Smugglers Bar, the Restaurant, the Stable Bar and Bedroom 4.
Witnesses have also reported hearing the sound of a phantom coach and horses drawing up outside the inn in the middle of the night.
Visitors to Jamaica Inn have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a man dressed in a cloak and a hat.
Apparently, he suddenly appears and then disappears through solid closed doors.
