In the Square of the beautiful market town of Ironbridge is the impressive Tontine Hotel.
The historical hotel dates back to 1784 and stands directly opposite the famous Iron Bridge.
The hotel has a reputation for being haunted…
Members of staff and guests alike have reported objects being moved on their own accord, unexplained eerie noises in the bar area, weird light anomalies, the sound of phantom children playing and the cellar lights being turned on and off on their own accord!
Room 5 at the hotel is infamous for being haunted by a ghost nicknamed Fred…
‘Fred’ or Frank Griffin lived at the hotel in the 1950s.
He was hung in Shrewsbury for the murder of his landlady in a house in Ketley!
Fred isn’t the only ghost said to haunt the hotel.

Lots of paranormal groups have investigated Jamaica Inn coming to the conclusion that the most active parts of the inn are the Smugglers Bar, the Restaurant, the Stable Bar and Bedroom 4.
Witnesses have also reported hearing the sound of a phantom coach and horses drawing up outside the inn in the middle of the night.
Visitors to Jamaica Inn have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a man dressed in a cloak and a hat.
Apparently, he suddenly appears and then disappears through solid closed doors.
