Members of staff at Wotton House have reported all sorts of paranormal activity taking place within the building during the night.
Suddenly temperature drops, doors opening and closing on their own accord and objects being mysteriously moved are just some of the weird goings-on which have been reported by spooked staff members.
In 1964 the night porter was stunned when he witnessed a ghostly apparition of a man open the doors and walk into the building.
He described the ghostly gentleman as being kind looking and Dickensian in appearance…

Lots of paranormal groups have investigated Jamaica Inn coming to the conclusion that the most active parts of the inn are the Smugglers Bar, the Restaurant, the Stable Bar and Bedroom 4.
Witnesses have also reported hearing the sound of a phantom coach and horses drawing up outside the inn in the middle of the night.
Visitors to Jamaica Inn have reported seeing the ghostly apparition of a man dressed in a cloak and a hat.
Apparently, he suddenly appears and then disappears through solid closed doors.
