The Grade I listed country house of Wrest Park is situated to the east of the village on the other side of the A6.
The present house dates back to the 1830s.
AMBERLY CASTLE: A Haunted Castle You Can Actually Stay the Night In!
The Grade I listed 12th century Amberley Castle Hotel is located in the picturesque village of Amberley.
Today, the castle has been transferred into an amazing luxury hotel.
It's said to be haunted by the ghost of a young girl called Emily who committed suicide at the castle.
Her ghostly apparition has been seen by terrified witnesses in and around the Herstmonceux room!
The house has a stunning ninety two acre 18th century garden which was created by the garden designers George London and Henry Wise and later modified by landscape architect Capability Brown.
There’s a story that Wrest Park’s bailiff and his daughter would often hear phantom footsteps walking around the gardens both in the day and during the night!
Today Wrest Park is run by English Heritage and is opened to the public if you fancy having a look around.
